Canyon Trails - Good For the Soul and So Much More!

Canyon Trails

As I kicked a loose rock off of the trail to keep someone else from possibly turning their ankle as they walk or run along the Canyon Rim Trail; I never cease to feel the excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to use these trails as well as enjoy breath taking view while we use them. It has been a gradual process of planning, approving, and mapping out these paths that run along and in the Snake River Canyon as well as along and in Rock Creek Canyon. Because of others vision and ideas, we get the opportunity to enjoy more of the landscape we live around here in the Magic Valley area. The trails provide us with the best option for walking, running, biking, stroller pushing, etc… without having to worry about sharing the road with automobiles.  We also get the opportunity to enjoy the sites with so many others friends, family while meeting new people along the way. People traveling through get to stretch their legs and take a walk along the canyon by the Perrine Bridge. Friends and family use the trails to exercise, visit and catch up on life and circumstances. These trails are no doubt a positive improvement to the area in which we live. For so many reasons; but mostly SPIRITUALLY (getting outdoors brings you closer to nature as well as strengthen your belief and faith. Being outdoors relieves stress), RELATIONALLY (spending time with people you love and care for.  Walking or exercising with them allows time for positive communication and working through life struggles as well as gives you time to catch up and remember why you love being with them), PHYSICALLY (We all know the truth about how good it is for us humans to be out exercising and enjoying the outdoors. The results are obvious). We can’t forget MENTALLY (being outdoors and exercising clears our minds and freshens our own outlook, helps us with decisions and encourages us to be mindful of the important things in life). We are so blessed here in Idaho!
Some things to keep in mind while enjoying the trails. Don’t stand in the middle of the trails visiting with friends. Step off the path and keep visiting. If you walk your dog on the trails, make sure you bring your baggie to pick up their droppings they leave along the trail so people and children don’t accidently step in them while enjoying the trails. Don’t take up the whole path while walking or riding together. Be mindful of bikers and runners and walkers to make sure there is room for them to pass you without the fear of getting too close or having to ride off the path to go around you. Know what side of the path you should be using to prevent others from having to step over because you are on the wrong side.   If everyone is mindful of others and their activities on the Trail system, it will always be a pleasant place to be.
We have a group of people in the community passionate about the trail system and raising monies to connect the trails here in the Magic Valley.

Only a Day Trip - Sunnyslope Wine Trail - Idaho Wine Country

Ste Chapelle Winery

Near Lake Lowell

Nampa and Marsing Mustard Fields

Abandoned Barn - Nampa Area

When you must take a drive out of town for an appointment; why not make it a day trip and visit some beautiful sights around your destination. You can experience some places you've not seen before as well as learn a bit more about nearby travel destinations.

I don't remember seeing Lake Lowell before, but we drove by the large lake near Marsing. I can see the fun a family can have boating, fishing, camping and fishing. It is a beautiful lake in the spring.

Most every country road you drive on you will come across some beautiful mustard fields in Nampa and Marsing area.

Barns from years ago show their age as they stand there looking tired and lonely. I never tire of seeing old barns showing the age and character of the countryside we live in.

St Chapelle as well as Bitner, and Zhoo Zhoo Wine, Hat Ranch and Williamson Orchards and Vineyards, and Koenig; as well as so many other wineries and vineyards are coloring the countryside with their vines and fruit trees.

This land is truly a beautiful sight. Not to mention exciting your taste buds with their perfect Idaho Wine. You will be hungry before the day is over; so stop at Orchard House and enjoy a delicious meal and dessert.

Take a trip today. A day trip or a weekend. You will not be disappointed.

Magic Valley Trail at Shoshone Falls Park

The view of the Snake River and the Shoshone Falls in the distance from the Canyon Trail. There are plenty of places to stop along the way and take a break at the benches set in place for you to enjoy.
From the Shoshone Park area to Evel Knevel Jump and back to the park the walk is right about 4 miles. Give or take a little.

You get a good view of the sky and clouds above as well as the city in the distance. We have so many clear days here in Twin Falls. You will rarely ever see fog or inversion. In August we get some smoke in the air from the Forest Fires and Desert Fires.

This shot gives you an idea of the very nice path we have to walk/run/bike and enjoy along the canyon starting at Shoshone Falls Park. Take opportunities to support the programs and events that help to fund this project.

Falls 2 Falls on April 16th is one event that MaVTEC is facilitating to help create awareness and fund the Magic Valley Trails in the Magic Valley area.

Happy Easter!

Angels, roll the rock away;
Death, yield up thy mighty prey:
See, He rises from the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.
Al-le-lu-ia! Al-le-lu-ia!
Chris the Lord is Risen Today!

Thomas Scott: Easter Angels

I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart comes singing,
"At morn the cherry blooms will be white,
And the Easter bells be ringing!"

Edna Dean Proctor: Easter Bells
Houghton Mifflin Company

I can live forever with God. Trouble, illness, and death may come,
but my real self -- my soul-- will go on living in another existence
with Almighty God.
That is one of the plain meanings of Easter.

Look to the sky - That is where our help comes from. It comes from the Lord- Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Saying Goodbye to Winter! Say Hello to Spring!

Skiing Magic Mountain Ski Resort

There are so many great resorts and mountains to ski here in Idaho. We chose Magic Mountain because it is
so close to our home and it has been a great place for our children to learn to ski.
Not to mention - The owners are so friendly and take good care of their skiers, snowboarders and tubers.

When you are at the TOP it is always Heavenly!

At the top of a Mountain. At the top of a wonderful experience. In Love!
We always like to feel like we are on TOP of the world.

I love the Clouds.

Clouds bring so much variety to our day. Shade, Wind, Lightning, Rain, Sleet, Snow, Hail.
Formations to gaze at. While relaxing any time of the year - Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.

Your time with your kids is fleeting. Lose track of your time and set your mind and focus
on other things. Before you know it your children will be focused on their own interests and families; working to
make something of their life. They will be all grown up.

The Look of Love

The Look of Love

A meal together as a family at the Dining Room Table. Laughing, Talking, with no media interruptions.

A flower sitting on a bench waiting for you. Left by your admiror.
A compliment and positive word to the one you love.

A late night outing with a friend or your lover. A time to visit and share dreams, concerns, deep secrets.

An arm around your sibling, friend, co-worker to show them you care. Maybe even lend a listening ear.

A Suprise overnighter at a romanitc destination. It doesn't have to break your bank. Be real and be creative.

The ONE thing we can never get enough of is LOVE. The ONE thing we never give enough of is LOVE.
